Our Mission:
We are a RICH school community. We show RESPECT, we have integrity, and we try to be CHARITABLE and HELPFUL followers of Jesus.
A note from the teacher….
Our Kindergarten program is specifically geared to create an atmosphere of learning that will tap into your child’s potential and develop it to the fullest.
As an educator who has taught Pre-K as well as 1st grade, I am well-versed as to a child’s development prior to entering my classroom as well as being mindful of where they are heading in the following year. I am passionate about this grade. It is an honor to be part of this developmental stage.
Kindergarten is the core foundation of every grade that follows. Instilling good work habits immediately sets the precedence for later grades. Just as you would not build a house on weak ground, you cannot develop a sound education with a weak beginning. Teaching responsibility that is age appropriate and having reasonable expectations for your child begins right away.
Learning at this special age is more than the basic subjects. It is meant to incorporate the qualities that you want your child to internalize. It is teaching them that the world is much bigger than just their family or neighborhood and that their kindness (or harshness) has an effect on others. Everything has the potential to be a lesson and every day in every way, I work to enhance and illustrate the values that you have taught them at home.
Children will only strive for what they are led to believe they can do. Don’t accept “I can’t” as an excuse not to try. Children will often say this as a way to avoid attempting something that will require more effort than they would rather apply.
Always remember that life must be experienced as we grow. The joy is in the journey, not the destination. In reality, the final destination should continuously out distance us because we should constantly set new goals for ourselves as we develop. As parents, you give your children a sense of security and the roots they need to develop into self-assured individuals. As a team, parents and teachers must expand upon that and further develop the wings your child needs to fly in this world.
Sincerely,
Ms. Carol Ann Giunta
